14th March - Drumheller

Got up early and headed off to Drumheller. We stopped off on the way to have a look at the 1988 Olympic Ski Jump and Bobsled track near Calgary. We went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum just out of Drumheller. It is home to many dinosaur skeletons. It was absolutely amazing. We saw many bones and fossils and even a paleontologist working on a find.
After the museum we stopped off at a small church that claims to seat 10,000 only 6 at a time.
Then on to Horse Thief Canyon where we had a good view of the Bad Lands and the amazing landscape where they have found many dinosaur bones.
Then went to Wayne an old Ghost town with a population of 30. We had to cross 11 bridges in 6 miles to get to the Last Chance Saloon, where David had a beer and Catriona had a root beer.
Our last stop for the day was some more hoodoos. Once the cap is dislodged the form errodes much more quickly. The one on Davids right days are numbered.

Nice to see the Calgary ski jumps still there, majestically propped up by the mountains.

Thanks for showing us what a Hoodoo actually is. Maybe David should've done a "Guru" pose in front of it?

You'll be glad to know that in the season's first round the Sharks won at Brookvale.
